Xamarin (deprecated)
This package is deprecated.
There are no longer plans to update Xamarin as Microsoft has abandoned it. They have ended support for this framework, and it will not comply with future versions of operating systems.
Xamarin support ended on May 1, 2024 for all Xamarin SDKs including Xamarin.Forms. Android API 34 and Xcode 15 SDKs (iOS and iPadOS 17, macOS 14) are the final versions Xamarin targets from existing Xamarin SDKs (that is, no new APIs are planned).
iOS 18, scheduled to be released in September 2024, and Android 15, expected to be released in August 2024, will no longer be supported by Xamarin. This plugin also won't comply with any platform's new policies, if any.
We suggest considering other frameworks, such as Microsoft's MAUI, which is similar to Xamarin, or others. For more information about upgrading Xamarin projects to .NET, see the Upgrade from Xamarin to .NET & .NET MAUI documentation.
