Frequently asked questions about statistics in Pushwoosh

Which stats does Pushwoosh gather?

Pushwoosh collects and stores stats for all messages you send to your users regardless of their type and source. Statistics include detailed data of your campaigns' performance:

  • pushes sent and pushes opened for each segment, app, campaign, and the whole account;

  • app installs and app opens for each app and platform;

  • devices registered and unregistered for each app and platform;

  • subscribers' number dynamics for each app and platform;

  • send, delivery, open, and click-through rates for each push and email message;

  • in-app triggered and in-app opened numbers;

  • conversion rates and revenue generated by Events.

How long does Pushwoosh store statistics?

There are different expiry dates for different types of statistics:

Does stats include only push notifications or any other messages as well?

The account-level Statistics section displays only push notifications you send to your apps' users. This data regards to all the pushes sent from any source, including automated push messaging, pushes sent from Control Panel and via API requests. However, you can check out the Email statistics in the My Account section and the Message History filtered by Email API or Email Control Panel source. In-App stats are available in the In-Apps section and contain the In-App triggered and In-App opened rates for each In-App Message.

What does the app stats show?

The application statistics present several vital metrics of your Pushwoosh app performance:

  • Daily Active Users,

  • Monthly Active Users,

  • Total Subscribers,

  • App Installs,

  • Push Installs,

  • App Opens,

  • Push Opens,

  • App Uninstalls,

  • Push Sends.

Why do I need app-specific and account-specific stats?

Push Statistics for the account reflect the whole picture of your marketing efforts presented in graph and table view. Here, you can see the accumulated numbers of pushes sent and opened for all the apps you have in your Pushwoosh account.

App-specific statistics are aimed at a more detailed analysis of your campaigns’ performance. Keep track of how your push messaging works for each of the apps you have.

What can I learn from the Message History?

The Message History contains all the data concerned with each specific message you send to your users.

Use the search bar to filter messages by campaign name, text, notification ID, or notification code. You can enter the full value or part of it.

Advanced Filters

Use Advanced Filters to specify platforms, message source/type, creation and sending dates, segments, and campaigns.

To view the message statistics, click on its title. You will see detailed information about the message:

Message performance

On the Statistic tab, you can view the message metrics such as Sent, Recipients, Opened, and Open Rate. Push stats are displayed in two graphs making it clear and easy to analyze the message's performance.

Export Message History

To get a CSV file with detailed stats for every message, click Export to CSV:

Choose what push data to include in the exported CSV and the period to export the Message History for:

Press Generate CSV to download the CSV file.

How do I see the Message History for a particular app?

To see the app-specific stats, choose an app in the Applications section:

After that, go to the Statistics section and open Message History.

Where are Email stats located?

To find total email statistics, go to My Account -> Workspace details section in your Pushwoosh Control Panel.

Here, you’ll see two numbers: the number of emails sent last month and current month.

For each email message you send, stats are displayed in the Message History section. Find emails by applying the Source filter (sent from Email API or Email Control Panel):

After that, click on the message title to open detailed statistics.

Which stats for In-App Messages are available?

To see the stats of In-App Messages, go to the In-Apps section of your Control Panel. Here, the list of In-Apps is presented with the number of how many times each In-App has been triggered by now.

To see the stats for a particular In-App Message, press the Stats button. Set a period to check out, and press Go. The stats include the number of In-App opens for every date within that period.

How can I download the stats data to my device?

All the data presented in graphs is available to download as a CSV file. To download a CSV, press the ▾ symbol next to the graph's name and select the Export CSV option.
