# Web content

Use web content to show a message on your site, for example an offer, an announcement, or a product tour. Pick a starting template, edit it in the editor, and attach it to a [web campaign](/product/messaging-channels/web-popups/create-web-popups-campaigns/). To collect emails or visitor answers, create a [web form](/product/content/web-popup-content/web-forms/) instead.

## Start from a template

1. Go to **Content → Web content**.
2. Click **Create** and choose the **Web content** type.
3. Pick a starting template from the gallery.
   - Use the category dropdown in the top right to filter by use case (for example **Promotions & offers**, **Gaming & marketplaces**, or **Feedback & surveys**), or leave it on **All templates**.
   - To start from a minimal layout, open **Blank layouts**.
   - There's no **Modal + subscription form** template. To collect emails, create a [web form](/product/content/web-popup-content/web-forms/).

4. [Build the content](#build-the-content) in the editor.

<span id="name-the-popup" />
### Name the content

Click the content name in the top bar to edit it. The name identifies this content inside Pushwoosh, in the content list and the campaign wizard. Website visitors do not see it.

## Build the content

<span id="undo-and-redo" />
<Aside type="tip" title="Undo and redo">
- **Cmd/Ctrl+Z:** undo.
- **Cmd/Ctrl+Shift+Z:** redo (Windows/Linux also accept Ctrl+Y).

Cmd+Y is reserved by the browser, so redo on Mac only responds to Cmd+Shift+Z. While a text field is focused, the shortcuts undo or redo changes in that field instead.
</Aside>

1. Open the **Elements** tab on the right. Drag a block onto the content, or click it to add it to the page. See [Blocks](/product/content/web-popup-content/blocks/) for every block.
2. Select a block on the content. Set its options, position, or delete it in the **Settings** tab.
3. To change how the whole content looks and sits on the page, use **Popup settings** on the left: media, size, colors, and [dark theme](/product/content/web-popup-content/popup-settings/#dark-mode). See [Web popup settings](/product/content/web-popup-content/popup-settings/).
4. To add more pages, see [Multiple pages](/product/content/web-popup-content/multi-page/).

## Save the content

1. Open **Preview** to check the content at full size.
2. Use **Close preview (Esc)** to return to the editor. If dark theme is on, the sun/moon switch next to **Close preview** lets you check both palettes. See [Dark mode](/product/content/web-popup-content/popup-settings/#dark-mode).
3. Review the content, images and video, and button actions.
4. Click **Save** in the top bar.

<Aside type="note">
Saving content does not show it on your site. The content appears on the site only after you select it in a web campaign and launch the campaign.
