# Get started with the no-code in-app editor

Use this guide to go from an empty canvas to a saved in-app template: create the template, build the layout, personalize it, style it, then save. Follow the steps below, or jump to a topic when you need it.

## Get started with the no-code in-app editor

<Steps>

1. **Create a template**

   An in-app template is a reusable design you build once and show in campaigns. Create one in the built-in editor from scratch, or open an existing template to customize it.

2. **Build the layout**

   Drag content blocks onto the canvas, such as headings, images, buttons, timers, products, and more. Personalize copy with Merge Tags, or use [display conditions](/product/content/in-apps/no-code-in-app-editor/show-in-app-content-to-specific-users/) to show different blocks to different users.

3. **Style the template and configure device behavior**

   Set document, color, and typography defaults for the whole template. Open **In-app settings** to configure position, animations, and the close button for how the message appears on device.

4. **Save the template**

   Save the template in the editor. It appears in **Content** → **In-apps**, ready to preview, edit, or use in campaigns.

</Steps>

## Apply consistent branding

Save your logo, colors, fonts, and block defaults once as a **Brand book**, then apply them to any in-app template in one click from the built-in editor's **⋮** menu.

<LinkCard title="Create a Brand book" href="/product/content/brand-book/" />

## Use your saved template

After you save, your template appears in **Content** → **In-apps**. From there you can preview, edit, clone, or delete templates. [View and manage your in-app content](/product/content/in-apps/#view-and-manage-your-in-app-content)
